Nelson Cricket is excited to announce the launch of the Nelson Women’s Cricket Club — a fresh initiative designed to boost female participation and celebrate the growing passion for cricket among women and girls across our region.

The Nelson Women’s Cricket Club is launched on the back of the Women & Girls Survey completed in March 2025, and will support the 2024-31 Women & Girls Strategy.  Providing a dedicated club to build female only teams; ensuring a fun, safe, and inclusive environment to attract, develop, and retain female cricketers.

Whether you're picking up a bat for the first time, returning after a break, or looking for a fun and social way to stay involved — this club is for you. Importantly, it’s not a replacement for what our Clubs already do so well; instead, it’s an inclusive opportunity designed to complement and support the current cricket landscape.

Everyone is welcome — from complete beginners to seasoned players, schoolgirls to super-mums. If you love the game or are simply curious to give it a go, we’d love to have you on board.
