Nelson Cricket Launches new Mentorship Programme
Nelson Cricket is proud to announce the launch of a brand-new Mentorship Programme, designed to support the growth and development of some of our region’s most promising players.
Led by former Blackcap, Gavin Larsen, the programme brings together expert facilitators to guide eight invited players through an off-field development journey that matches their commitment on the park.
Across the season, participants will gain valuable support in areas such as:
Leadership and team culture
Mental skills and resilience
Strength & Conditioning
Goal setting
Performance analysis
The Mentorship Programme also directly supports the players establishing their own Individual Performance Plan (IPP), ensuring players are set up for success both now and in the future.
In addition, Nelson Cricket has partnered with Sport Chaplaincy NZ to provide enhanced wellbeing support, giving players access to resources that strengthen not only their game but also their wider lives.
"This is an exciting programme, targeted at supporting some of our aspiring players on their cricket journey. Helping build skills which will enhance their game, and support their wider endeavours as well," said Jake Inwood, Nelson Cricket's General Manager.
